The official book launch of HIGH MAS: Carnival and the Poetics of Caribbean Culture will feature an exhibition of photographs, readings by author, Kevin Adonis Browne, as well as appearances at Malvern Junction by 2001 Jab Molassies, Tracey Sankar-Charleau’s La Diablesse, Touch D Sky Moko Jumbies, and Jouvay Ayiti–whose images appear in the book. HIGH MAS combines the arts of photography and the lyric essay to devise a way of seeing the Caribbean, the world, and the self. Limited quantities of the book will be available at the launch.
